MADISON (WKOW) -- A woman with more than 15 years of experience in criminal justice and public safety reform will serve as the interim independent monitor for Madison.
Aeiramique "Meeka" Glass most recently served as the Chief of Police Accountability in Baltimore. In that role, she led the Police Accountability Division.
In Madison, Glass will help the Police Civilian Oversight Board in its process of hiring a permanent independent monitor. She will also oversee the Office of the Independent Monitor, which monitors the Madison Police Department's policies, procedures and investigations.
According to a release from the city, Glass is expected to serve as the interim independent monitor for six to nine months. She was selected from a pool of three finalists .
