At least one of the more common obstacles to making it to Thanksgiving dinner will be relieved next week — the Virginia Department of Transportation will suspend many of its work zones and lane closures on major thoroughfares, starting Wednesday.

This turkey day is set to be the busiest on record. AAA said it expects about 81.8 million people to travel at least 50 miles for Thanksgiving — 90% of whom will be traveling by car — which is 1.6 million more people on the roads than last year.
