A fire in an East Bremerton home Friday morning killed one man and his dog.
According to Bremerton Fire Department Assistant Chief John Payne, neighbors reported smoke coming out of a broken front window of a home on Worrall Drive just after 9 a.m. on Nov. 21. Firefighters arrived at the scene, about a block east of Wheaton Way near Hollis Street, and found smoke and visible flames in the front living room area.
Payne said the flames and smoke were contained to the house and the fire was put out in about 30 minutes. The unidentified man and his dog were deceased upon arrival.
Fire investigators are working on determining a cause through an investigation.
The release of the victim's identity is pending notification of the family and is expected to be released by the Kitsap County Medica
