The anti-racism action committee's mandate is to advise council on the city's anti-racism strategy

While it still requires ratification from city council, Calgary’s anti-racism action committee has been entrenched in the form of a new bylaw.

Community Development Committee members voted 10-1 on Friday to convert the anti-racism action committee’s terms of reference into a new bylaw, aligning the group with the city’s other council-appointed bodies.

The new bylaw will govern the advisory group’s mandate, composition, responsibilities and operations, according to a city staff report.
