KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee is helping serve all kinds of residents in the area, and one program is helping teenagers and young adults who are homeless.

It’s called Youth When in Need Succeed, or Youth W.I.N.S .

Dione Craig is a 24-year-old who completed the Youth W.I.N.S. program. Craig was in Huntsville, Alabama and working on her degree when her mental health started to decline. She was homeless and living in shelters.

“So, when I first got here, I was a little nervous," Craig said. “I’ve never been able to have access to a program like this. But as soon as I stepped in, I was welcomed with open arms.”
