ANDERSON COUNTY (9-2) at GREENEVILLE (11-1)

It’s almost a rite of passage that these two teams meet with the season and a potential state championship on the line.

The Greene Devils and Mavericks square off for the eighth time in the last nine years in the 4A playoffs Friday night at Burley Stadium in Greeneville.

It’s the fourth year in a row the perennial powers have met in the quarterfinals.

AC knocked Greeneville out of the playoffs last year (28-14), but the Greene Devils are 5-2 against the Mavericks in the postseason since 2017.
