COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Former State Representative RJ May is facing additional charges.
The SC Department of Revenue says May is charged with three counts of failing to file and pay South Carolina individual income tax.
According to investigators, May did not file income tax returns between 2022 and 2024, owing the state more than $14,000.
May is currently in custody in Edgefield County after pleading guilty to possessing and distributing images of child sexual abuse material.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced in January and faces up to 20 years in prison.
