CORVALLIS, Ore. - Benton County is stepping up efforts to combat food insecurity with its "Noodles for Neighbors" campaign. This initiative runs through December, collecting nonperishable food and monetary donations to support those in need.
According to Benton County, collection boxes are set up in eight county facilities. Community members are encouraged to donate items like dry pasta, boxed macaroni and cheese, and canned pasta meals.
The Linn Benton Food Share highlights that monetary donations are the most effective aid, with every dollar providing five meals to local individuals and families.
Ryan McCambridge, Program Director at Linn Benton Food Share, reported distributing over 1.6 million pounds of food in the past fiscal year. This included more than 21,000 emergency food boxe
