PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland police announced late Friday afternoon that they had taken a suspect into custody for a shooting earlier in the morning that left one man dead an another injured in Northeast Portland's Hollywood District.
The shooting was reported at 6:46 a.m. in a parking garage on the 4200 block of Northeast Halsey Street. Two people were struck by gunfire during the shooting, police initially told KGW. Officers arrived to find one man dead, and paramedics took the other to the hospital where he's expected to recover. Police released few other initial details, but said there was no threat to the public.
