REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) - One Ozarks nonprofit is bringing Christmas cheer to a group that often goes unrecognized during the holiday season.
Caring for Widows focuses on people living in nursing homes. Organizers said many residents don’t have regular visitors, with up to 60 percent never receiving visits. The residents often need comfort items such as blankets or pajamas.
The organization’s goal is to provide items that each person wants or needs during the season of giving.
“We have an Amazon wish list where we’ve been putting in all of the items that the residents are requesting,” said Desarae Fanatia of Caring for Widows. “Our goal is to get $30 per person, which will get them what they are asking for on their wish list. And we are about halfway to reaching our goal of giving everybody
