SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The City of Springfield has announced the winners of the 2025 Springfield Heritage Awards. According to the Springfield Historic Commission, these awards honor contributions to local history preservation and cultural storytelling.

The Nativity Ukrainian Catholic Church received the History Maker Award for its stewardship of Ukrainian culture in Springfield. The congregation hosts an annual summer festival featuring Ukrainian folk traditions and recently led an initiative to rename "Kiev Street" to "Kyiv Street" in the Uke Village neighborhood.

The Lane County Monuments Project earned the Preservation Excellence Award. This collaboration between local museums and the park district explores the significance of public art across Lane County, including Springfield landmar
