SPRINGFIELD — State Sen. Adam Gómez is organizing his annual Hampden District Turkey Drive to provide Thanksgiving meals to families facing food insecurity across Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke.

The initiative aims to distribute over 1,000 turkeys to ensure households can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Distribution events begin Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wycoff Country Club in Holyoke. On Monday, families can receive turkeys at 11 a.m. at the Indian Orchard Community Center, 117 Main St., in Springfield’s Indian Orchard neighborhood.

Additional sites will be announced.
