DES MOINES, Iowa (Gray Media Iowa Capitol Bureau) - Federal changes to hemp rules could force a Des Moines business to close after new THC limits would eliminate most of its products.

Climbing Kites co-founder Scott Selix said the company faces potential closure following a provision in the government spending bill that restricts hemp products to just 0.4 milligrams of THC per container.

“You’re talking about the potential to really, the upheaval of thousands of people’s lives, jobs, leases on commercial spaces that don’t just go away, but their entire product, the entire line of products they sell goes away,” Selix said.
