ALTA, Iowa (KTIV) - Crews were sent to a train derailment Friday morning in Buena Vista County, Iowa, where there were reports of train cars tipping over.
The derailment happened between Alta and Storm Lake, Iowa, along Highway 7. That train is reportedly on a Canadian National Railway line.
Canadian National says the derailment took place around 10:30 ET. while a CN train was servicing a customer. They say six cars derailed in various positions while moving toward an elevator.
Traffic on Highway 7 is not being affected. Grain had spilled from the train cars, and crews were cleaning it up Friday morning.
The Canadian railway organization says the initial report shows there are no reported dangerous goods, fires, or injuries as a result of the incident.
