RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The Columbia Housing Authority is moving ahead with two new affordable housing communities in Richland County, with construction expected to begin in early 2026.
The projects include new townhomes for families, senior apartments and dozens of planned renovations for existing single-family homes.
Cindy Herrera, chief operating officer for the Columbia Housing Authority, said both new developments are fully funded and ready to begin once closing is completed.
"We have two communities that have been fully funded and will be closing early next year and starting construction immediately thereafter,” Herrera said. “The first one is called Oak Grove at Hunt Club.
