SPRINGFIELD — MGM Springfield reported a gross gambling revenue from slot machines and table games of just more than $24 million in October.

That’s up from the $22.5 million reported last month and the $22.1 million recorded a year ago in October 2024. There’s been a string of year-over-year gains, according to figures released this week by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Casinos are a seasonal business with revenues fluctuating through the year.

The Gaming Commission said there was a total of $168.1 billion in taxable gaming revenue from casinos, sports books and mobile gaming sites, according to the report.

The total taxes collected were $42 million, the commission said.

At MGM Springfield, the in-person sportsbook had a handle — the handle is the total amount bet — of $1.29
