FEDERAL WAY — The Columbia River girls soccer team is back in the state championship match.
And this time the Rapids want to end it right.
“We were in the same place last year,” junior Remi Buckley said. “And we really want to get a different result.”
The Rapids got on the board early and pulled away late to beat Anacortes 4-0 in the Class 2A girls soccer state semifinal on Friday afternoon.
Top-seeded River will face West Valley-Spokane in the title match at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Last year, River reached the title match but fell 1-0 to 2A Greater St. Helens League rival Ridgefield, which earned its second straight state title.
But a couple of players who weren’t with the Rapids last year helped River advance to the final.
