WOONSOCKET, R.I. (KVOA) - CVS Health is stepping up to offer the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine to Arizona residents amid a measles outbreak that has resulted in 137 cases and four hospitalizations, according to a press release.

Unvaccinated individuals can now receive the MMR vaccine at more than 170 CVS Pharmacy and 25 MinuteClinic locations across Arizona. The vaccine is crucial in preventing the spread of this highly contagious disease.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) explains that measles spreads through the air via coughs or sneezes from an infected person. Symptoms often include a high fever, cough, runny nose, and a red rash.

"Vaccination is the most effective way to help protect people from measles," CVS Health officials said.
