A Fort Wayne man was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison for his part in a shooting that killed a woman and injured two men in a strip club parking lot.

William E. Tolbert, 31, was initially charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder after a shooting Nov. 16, 2024, in the parking lot of Showgirl 1, a strip club located at 2910 Goshen Road. However, he entered a plea agreement in March that, if approved by a judge, would dismiss those charges in exchange for him pleading guilty to aiding aggravated battery.

Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull accepted that agreement Friday. Tolbert faced between three and 16 years in prison, and she sentenced him to 12.
