CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cuyahoga County judge on Thursday denied an early prison release for a woman at the center of allegations involving a jurist’s improper investigation into her case.
Common Pleas Judge David Matia refused to release Ashlyn Rogers from an 18-month sentence for helping direct street takeovers in Cleveland.
Matia took over the case Monday after it was reassigned from Judge Kira Krivosh . Matia had a hearing Wednesday and ruled the next day.
Rogers, 23, pleaded guilty in June to disrupting public service and aggravated riot after prosecutors said she used Instagram to help coordinate large-scale street takeovers in September 2024.
The incidents involved dozens of vehicles blocking intersections and performing stunts. As part of her plea deal, Rogers forfeited her 202
