LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Lexington School District Two Superintendent Dr. Brenda Hafner will retire at the end of the 2025–2026 school year, concluding a nearly 30-year career in South Carolina education that has included roles as a teacher, principal, district administrator, and superintendent.
The Lexington Two Board of Trustees announced her retirement at the conclusion of Thursday’s board meeting. Dr. Hafner, who joined the district in July 2022, said in a Friday email to employees that “recent challenges” have led her to put her family first. Her retirement will take effect June 30, 2026.
