EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Pet owners might want to give their pets a taste of their Thanksgiving meal, but not all things are safe for cats and dogs to eat. Tyler veterinarian Dr. Gary Spence said many table scraps can cause harm to your furry friend.
“Animals just can’t indulge in that kind of stuff. You’re doing them an injustice because that turkey skin and a lot of the turkey grease and stuff like that can cause pancreatitis which can be fatal, particularly in cats,” said Dr. Spence.
Grapes and raisins are considered toxic to pets. Even when you are prepping, raw dough can lead to alcohol poisoning; the live yeast in the dough ferments sugars in the warm stomach, producing ethanol alcohol.
