Shubman Gill is the captain of India’s Test and ODI team, but the 26-year-old right-handed batter from Punjab is not playing for India in the ongoing second Test against South Africa, which kicked off on Saturday (November 22) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The right-handed batter, who is the highest run getter in Test cricket in 2025, was ruled out of the second Test on Friday, November 21, due to a neck injury that he suffered on Day 2 of the first India-South Africa Test played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata last week.
