WABAUNSEE COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) - Someone shot a rural Kansas family’s dog - and the sheriff will not have it.

Wabaunsee County Sheriff Eric Kirsch posted a $500 reward on Friday, Nov. 21, to find whoever shot Tater, a rural family’s Anatolian Shepherd.

The Sheriff said the family found Tater on their property on Wednesday, Nov. 19. They thought he was hurt by a fence. But X-rays revealed that he had actually been shot.

Investigators indicated that the gunshot broke Tater’s hip and pelvis. He needed two surgeries and four drainage tubes. The tough dog remains in recovery.
