A woman has been jailed for assaulting a grocery store manager.

Talia Conners had previously pleaded guilty to the assault but missed her sentencing, leading to an arrest warrant being issued.

The Guyra woman appeared in Armidale Local Court before Magistrate Michael Holmes on Wednesday, November 19 where she sought to have that conviction annulled before re-affirming a guilty plea to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Defence solicitor Nicole Polyakova said that Conners was a single mother and worked full-time hours at a factory in Glen Innes.

"As far as background is concerned, she tells me he [victim] made some inappropriate comments," Ms Polyakova said.

Ms Polyakova urged the court to consider a community-based sentence or consider the matter for circle sentenci
