LITITZ — Decades ago, before win No. 1 in his coaching career, Jeff Weachter was just a kid falling in love with football, playing on a football field in Lititz alongside his brother and dad.

In 2025, fate took him back to the spot where his journey with football began. His Bishop McDevitt Crusaders were taking on Solanco in the District 3 title game at his alma mater, Warwick High School, and milestones were on the line.

Both pursuits were achieved: Bishop McDevitt defeated the Golden Mules 38-20, the Crusaders captured a District 3-record 19 championships, and also a major milestone for Weachter — 300 career wins, right in the coordinates where he fell in love with the sport.

“It was God’s plan,” Weachter said.
