PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The Pikeville Panthers hosted the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets in the state quarterfinals and won, 42-14.
The game was a defensive tussle early on, with a scoreless tie going into the second quarter.
Jayden Justice would start the scoring for the Panthers on an eight-yard rushing touchdown.
On the ensuing kickoff, Isaiah Coleman some how got the ball, giving Chris McNamee’s unit the ball once again.
The Panthers would score on the following possession, courtesy of Justice bulldozing his way to the endzone from 16 yards out.
At the half, Pikeville led 14-0.
Justice continued his success in the second half, piling another three touchdowns onto the stat sheet.
