FEDERAL WAY — The Seton Catholic girls soccer team carried themselves with swagger and confidence upon arriving at Federal Way Memorial Stadium for Friday’s Class 1A state semifinals.
Seton coach Antonio Buckley sensed a different mindset among players during pregame warmups.
“Before, they do a pre-game prayer … there was a little more enthusiasm to that prayer, there was a little more enthusiasm to that break and then right away we could just tell,” Buckley said.
The No. 2 seed Cougars came out aggressive in an eventual 2-1 win over No. 3 Bear Creek, getting an early goal from senior CJ Moore and playing tough defense throughout that kept the Grizzlies out of goal until second-half stoppage time.
