Rebates could be paid out if you have paid too much tax on your pension, your job pay or many other things
The nation's tax collection body has sent out guidance to UK taxpayers to say they could be owed a refund. HMRC has spelt out the process to check whether this has happened on things such as your pension, pay from a job and a self-assessment tax return.
In a message on X, formerly known as Twitter , HM Revenue & Customs, said: "Think you’re owed a tax refund? Manage your money and tax easily with the HMRC app."

A report written by Kantar for HMRC in 2022 said that large numbers of people every year in the UK pay too much tax
