Cumberland County won't be sending a team to the fourth round of NCHSAA football playoffs for the first time since 2022 as Cape Fear, Jack Britt and two-time reigning East Regional champion Seventy-First were eliminated Friday, Nov. 21, all falling on the road to higher seeds.
The Falcons, who were playing without starting quarterback R'maunni Watson, fell 19-14 at Northern Nash in the 6A East bracket, while Jack Britt fell 55-12 at 7A West No. 1 Grimsley and Cape Fear lost to Garner 63-26 in the 7A East.
