UK coffee chain 'ends' popular 'free coffee' service for dozens of outlets View Image
A coffee chain with 70 outlets across the UK is ending its 'free coffee' subscription service, despite it being hailed as the 'best' in the country. The Roast Rewards scheme at Leon, which allowed subscribers to enjoy up to five free coffees a day for a monthly fee of £25, has been scrapped due to overwhelming demand.
Baristas were reportedly struggling to keep up with the volume of drinks they had to prepare. The scheme, which also offered members a 20% discount on food, was dubbed "Britain's best coffee subscription" by one journalist.
The offer stipulated that the five daily coffees had to be claimed at least an hour apart. However, this popular perk is now set to end, the Telegraph reports
