Energy bills are set to increase by 0.2 per cent from January 1, 2026.
It means bills for a typical household in England, Scotland and Wales paying direct debt for gas and electricity will rise by about £3 to £1,758 per year.
Ofgem announced an increase to its next price cap amid speculation that Chancellor Rachel Reeves could be looking to target further energy bill support in the autumn Budget, which will be delivered on November 26.
