Thomas M. Cooley Law School was placed on probation by the American Bar Association in September for its continued failure to meet the required minimum bar exam passage rate.

On Friday, Cooley announced that it had met that standard for the first time since the ABA changed the requirements in 2020.

“I am pleased to report that 76.2 percent of Cooley’s 2024 graduates who have taken a bar examination within two years of graduating have passed, putting us in compliance,” said Cooley President James McGrath said in a statement.

The ABA’s Standard 316 requires at least 75% of a school’s graduates who sit for the bar to pass within two years of graduation.
