PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two people were killed, and another is fighting for their life after a fiery crash in south Phoenix.

Just before 1:45 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the area of Central Avenue and Baseline Road after a crash near a Valley Metro light rail station.

Police arrived and found two cars at the intersection, one of which was engulfed in fire, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department responded and put out the fire. Two people were killed, and a third was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Central Avenue and Baseline Road are closed in all directions in the immediate area. Train service along the B line has also been temporarily suspended due to the investigation, according to Valley Metro. Riders traveling n
