The city of Morristown anticipates the construction project of a roundabout at the intersection of Cherokee and Walters Drive to begin on Monday, Dec. 1.

This will result in closure of the intersection, estimated at a period of three months. A detour route has been established, and letters are going out to those in the immediate neighborhoods, according to city administration.

The complete closure of the intersection will result in a detour plan for access to Cherokee Drive. Access will be available from North Cumberland Street for the properties located east of the Walters Drive intersection. Properties located west of the Walters Drive intersection will need to be accessed by Noe’s Chapel Road (by way of Britt Lane), off Fairview Road which is accessed from Buffalo Trail. North Cumberl
