ATLANTA — Pitt will be without one of its brightest stars when it meets No. 16 Georgia Tech for a battle between ACC contenders at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday night. Per a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, running back Desmond Reid is not available while dealing with a lower-body injury suffered in the second half against Notre Dame last weekend. He was considered questionable on the initial ACC availability report released Thursday night.
Reid has accounted for 700 all-purpose yards and five total touchdowns this season, but the Panthers have had to operate without him for most of the season. In addition to the three games he’s missed, Reid has been limited for contests against Syracuse and West Virginia. He’s dealt with injuries to his ankle, shoulder and hamstring at different points
