Welcome back!

After being closed for several years due to a major redevelopment, the legendary Bell’s Market is back in business on the ground floor of a new building on Dorchester Street.

The development project consisted of he demolition of the existing single-story structure occupying the site and the construction of a 5-story mixed-use building with approx. 7835 square feet of ground floor retail space, 32 residential units, and 23 off-street parking spaces. The new building is now known as Vesta .

Bell’s Market has been a family-owned business in South Boston since the early 1900s, when the original owner, Sam Bell, opened it. It is currently owned by George Khoury.

The market features a butcher counter, groceries, beer, wine, and liquor, and now has a cafe and prepared foods.
