A heating oil tank on a private property in Port Orchard leaked and led to fuel sheen discovered in the 700 block of Prospect Street, spreading onto city streets, stormwater system and reaching Sinclair Inlet, the city said.

The city contained and managed the spill within the storm system and public right-of-way, and the Washington State Department of Ecology has deployed absorbent booms in the vicinity of the Port of Bremerton's boat launch to intercept and absorb any residual fuel product reaching the inlet, according to a statement from the city on Nov. 14.
