SPOKANE, Wash. — New traffic safety cameras will soon be activated at the intersection of East Mission Avenue and North Greene Street, according to the City of Spokane.

The Spokane Police Department selected the intersection back in March due to increased traffic safety concerns. The city says the Mission and Greene intersection is among the busiest in the city and has been the site of 18 crashes since 2023.

“The intersection of Mission and Greene has one of the highest collision rates in the City. SPD has seen a reduction in collisions, red light running, and speeds at intersections where red light violation cameras have been placed previously. Safer driving means fewer collisions and safer streets for everyone,” said Spokane Police Lieutenant Benjamin Maplethorpe.
