Four people were wounded, three of them critically, when gunfire erupted during a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in North Carolina on Friday night, police said.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Union Street South in Concord, located about 19 miles northeast of Charlotte, local authorities said in a press release.
A subsequent investigation determined the violence erupted from a confrontation between “two suspects who are known to each other,” cops said, adding that it “was not a random act of violence directed at the public.”
One suspect has since been identified as 18-year-old Nasir Ahmad Bostic . He was shot during the incident and remains in the hospital in critical condition, according to authorities.
