The children of a Washington restaurateur who died after a short battle with pancreatic cancer have paid an emotional tribute to their dad. Sadik Miah spent more than four decades building up a loyal customer base at the Concord Tandoori in Washington.

Mr Miah died on Sunday, November 16, aged 64. Days before his death, he wrote in a post on Facebook to his customers: "Thank you.

"Thank you for every visit, every order, every kind word. This little restaurant became everything I ever dreamed of and so much more because of you."

Sadik settled in Washington when he was just 14 years old. He established Concord Tandoori on Victoria Road in 1980.
