Alabama football handled business Saturday against Eastern Illinois in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide won 56-0 , moving to 9-2 on the season and closing out its home slate against an FCS opponent.
The game featured a host of Alabama’s youngest players and other backups getting their moment for some valuable game reps. Quarterback Ty Simpson didn’t see the field in the second half, with Austin Mack and Keelon Russell taking over behind center.
After the win, it’s on to more difficult challenges for Alabama. UA is heading to Auburn for the Iron Bowl next week, needing a win to stay alive for the College Football Playoff race, and potentially a spot in the SEC championship game.
