Box truck crashes through guardrail into Vermont river

HARTLAND, Vt. — A Massachusetts man suffered minor injuries Friday morning when his box truck crashed through a guardrail and landed in the Ottauquechee River on Interstate 91.

James Sseggwanyi, 44, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, was driving north on I-91 in a 2020 Isuzu box truck when he lost control of the vehicle around 7:03 a.m., according to Vermont State Police.

The truck crashed through the left side guardrail near mile marker 66.4 in Hartland and exited the roadway before landing in the river. Police say Sseggwanyi was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
