GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department has released more details about a murder-suicide investigation on Creekwood Drive on Nov. 21.
Officers say they responded to a "family disturbance" on Friday night when a man shot at them from inside of a home.
GPD officers called for back-up and requested nearby residents to shelter in place. After negotiations, a juvenile being held inside the home was released unharmed.
When officers went inside they found 62-year-old Paul Arthur Merchant and 38-year-old Alessandra Amador Merchant dead from gunshot wounds.
Police ruled their deaths a murder-suicide.
No suspects are being investigated in this case. Officers believe they've identified all involved parties. No officers were hurt during the gunfire exchange.
