HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Showers may be briefly enhanced Sunday as a quick-moving upper trough moves through the islands. Drier weather should then prevail.
There’s a First Alert for a potential increase in showers Wednesday into the Thanksgiving Day holiday. The forecast models differ in timing, but heavy showers are not expected.
Trade winds will be in the 10 to 15 mile per hour range for Sunday and Monday but will ease during the latter half of the week, becoming light by Thursday.
In surf, a high surf advisory remains up for the north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu and Molokai, and the north shores of Maui through 6 p.m. Sunday.
Waves on south shores will remain small for the next several days, while east shore waves will decline through the coming week with lighter trade
