ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Area scouting troops conducted their annual Scouting for Food drive this weekend, collecting donations that will help stock The Care Service food pantry for several months.

At the organization’s facility on Saturday, a busy scene as bags of food donations were dropped off, sorted and boxed up.

“It looks kind of chaotic, but it’s definitely organized chaos,” said Michelle Ritter, The Care Service Pantry Program Supervisor. “And at the end of the day, our pantry will be absolutely stocked. Our warehouse will be full. And we can take a deep breath knowing that we can meet the needs of those in our community who are dealing with food insecurity.”

The food pantry serves St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties and has seen increased demand in recent months.
