POINTE COUPEE PARISH, La. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a baby was reportedly taken from her home Saturday night in New Roads, Louisiana.

State Police say A’Laya Jackson, just 3 months old, was last seen on Bayou Run Drive. Police say a woman named Carnasia Mims reportedly took the infant from the house around 3:18 p.m.

Louisiana State Police received the request to issue the AMBER Alert at 10:25 p.m.

"A’Laya Jackson is a 3-month-old black female with black hair and brown eyes. Her height and weight are unknown," a release said.

Police said Mims is about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs around 137 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She is believed to be driving a blue 2012 Toyota Yaris with Louisiana license plate 533HZE.
