An investigation was underway today following a massive fire that broke out in Wigan town centre. Emergency services were called to King Street at around 10.30pm on Saturday. It's believed that the blaze engulfed the site of the now-defunct Jak's nightclub although there has been no official confirmation from the fire service.
King Street, bustling with Saturday night party-goers, was cordoned off by police and it's understood that the fire resulted in the closure of other nearby bars.
