Police have issued an investigation update following a devastating blaze which ripped through a former nightclub in Wigan on Saturday evening (November 22).

The huge fire erupted at the old Jak's nightclub on King Street at around 10.30pm. It was well alight when emergency crews arrived at the scene and taped off the area.

King Street - busy with Saturday night revellers - was closed by police and it's understood the blaze led to the closure of other bars nearby. Properties in the vicinity were also evacuated amid the incident.
