Work has started on a new multi-million-pound NHS facility in Coventry . It will be based at the City of Coventry Health Centre.
Patients will be able to access faster diagnoses for conditions such as cancer and heart disease at the new £14m Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). Multiple tests can be completed in a single visit, improving efficiency and reducing delays.
Contractors have begun refurbishing the NHS Paybody Building for the new facility on Stoney Stanton Road. Once completed, the CDC will open from Monday to Friday.
Opening in 2026, the major new facility is expected to see 90,000 patients annually and provide up to 75,000 additional tests, preventing unnecessary journeys to University Hospital Coventry .
